As Global Comms Lead for Greenpeace's Detox my Fashion campaign, I have been campaigning for a toxic-free future for fashion that eliminates hazardous chemicals from all steps of the supply chain. But due to fast fashion and overconsumption, we are facing a bigger challenge: a wasteful system where fashion and many other goods are thrown away after a few uses. To challenge this system, Greenpeace has launched MAKE SMTHNG to encourage a culture of repairing, upcycling, DIY and sharing of not only fashion, but also electronics, food and other valuable resources. During MAKE SMTHNG Week (Nov 23rd - Dec 2nd) we will call again to MAKE SMTHNG - buy nothing and invite people to workshops and talks around making. Lets start a conversation on how we can collaborate during this week of action and push for more liveable, resourceful cities and communities together.
