MakerNet is a distributed manufacture ecosystem. Its goal is to make cities self-sufficient by relocalizing manufacturing everywhere in the world: locally, near the consumers. Backed by Fab City, our platform creates a relationship between worldwide product designers (makers, architects...), product consumers, and local manufacturers around the consumers (Fab Labs, artisans...). The product's cost is divided for manufacturing and intellectual property in full transparency and security using the blockchain.
Maker and programmer, I created the MakerNet project 3 years ago. MakerNet is a distributed manufacturing ecosystem and a part of FabCity's industry stream. Most of my developing work happens in blockchain space for ecosystems that empower citizens.
The workshop will explore how computation affects architecture, urbanism, engineering, and construction, toward new concepts, aesthetics and methodologies. We will present some of our recent works in solar passive design, performative-driven algorithms, urban morphologies, complex geometries, digital fabrication...
